CMDR Alan Preskett, RFD**, RANR died suddenly on 26 Dec
2005. The Division records that he "will be remembered
as a friend, for his humour, his ability to keep us in line at
meetings, his organisational skills, his love of a 'drop' of red
wine and good food, his social attendance were welcomed and above
all his knowledge of all things Navy. He left a son, Scott,
and two daughters, Amanda and Tania."
1. GENERAL INFORMATION:

League of Australia
- The South Australia Division is a forum for members of the public
to join and contribute positive ideas and opinions that can be
put before the Australian people and Government at all levels
promoting the League's Aims and Objectives Prospective new members
may contact the Division at the postal address or through Executive
Committee members - (Refer SA DIVISION Web page information )
The Division encourages discussion and promotion of our aims and
objectives through print or other media means and is seeking contributions
that portray and encompass the necessity of an Australian Maritime
Industry and/or the requirement of a strong Australian Navy -
both being indispensable elements vital to the freedom of our
nation.
All contributions are discussed at State level for potential publication
and distribution at either local level or through our Federal
body for national exposure. The Division also promotes and encourages
the interest of South Australian youth in the sea and sea services,
and in practical sea training through the Australian Naval Cadets
now widely located around South Australia. (Refer S.A. ANC web

Social activities are included in the Divisional programme and
include functions to entertain visiting ships personnel from Australia
and overseas nations.
